Directions to Peffermill

BY CAR
Edinburgh is well connected to the UK trunk road and motorway network. For information on travel by car, contact the Automobile Association (AA) or the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) or alternatively follow the
directions below
FROM THE NORTH
After leaving the Forth Road Bridge, follow the A90 to the Barnton Roundabout. At the lights, follow the signs for the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass eastbound. Keep following these signs until you get onto the A720 then leave the Bypass at the Straiton Junction. At the end of the slip road follow the A701 city centre signs. Continue on the A701 until you come to a roundabout (about 2.5 km). Take the third exit (A6095 Craigmillar), passing Cameron Toll shopping centre on the right. Go straight across the mini roundabout and at the next large roundabout take the second exit (A6095 Craigmillar) on to Peffermill Road. The main entrance to Peffermill Playing Fields is approx 200 metres on the right hand side, just after Capital Motors and Two Wheels.
FROM THE EAST
If approaching via the A1, leave at the Newcraighall Junction. At the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road follow the A6095 (Craigmillar). Keep following these signs for about 3 km until you see two high-rise blocks on the left hand side. Peffermill Playing Fields are located on the left hand side. Ignore the first large blue University sign and continue along Peffermill Road. The main entrance is 150 metres approx after the road bends to the left.
If approaching from Musselburgh, at the lights beside the Caprice restaurant, follow the A6095 (Newcraighall and Craigmillar) signs then follow the above directions.
FROM THE SOUTH
If approaching by the A702 or the A701, join the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass eastbound at the Hillend jct and leave at the next jct, Straiton. At the end of the slip road follow the A701 city centre signs. Continue on the A701 until you come to a roundabout (about 2.5 km). *
If approaching via the A7 or A68 take the A7 city centre exit at the Sheriffhall roundabout. Stay on the A7 until the large roundabout at Cameron Toll Shopping Centre is reached. *

Go straight across the mini roundabout and at the next large roundabout take the second exit (A6095 Craigmillar) on to Peffermill Road. FROM THE WEST
If approaching from the M9, continue to its termination where it joins the M8, ensuring you follow signs for the M8 East (Edinburgh).
Once on the M8, or if approaching from the M8, continue to its termination (Hermitage Gate roundabout) and follow signs for the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass eastbound. Stay on the A720 until the Straiton Junction where you leave the Bypass.
At the end of the slip road, follow the A701 city centre signs. Continue on the A701 until you come to a roundabout (about 2.5 km). Take the third exit (A6095 Craigmillar), passing Cameron Toll shopping centre on the right. BY RAIL
Edinburgh is well served by the national rail network. All trains arrive at Waverley Station in the centre of the city and from there a 15 minute (approx) taxi ride will take you to Peffermill.

BY AIR
Edinburgh Airport has regular scheduled services to a wide range of destinations across the
British Isles and Continental Europe. It is also well served by connecting flights via British
and other European hub airports to almost anywhere in the world. Cars can be hired at the
airport or alternatively a 20 minute (approx) taxi journey will take you to Peffermill.
BY BUS
A number of bus companies operate regular services to Edinburgh from major Scottish and British cities. Contact National Express for more information.
Several bus routes serve Peffermill. Numbers 2, 14, 21 and 42
can all be picked up in central Edinburgh and run frequently
